Are we reaching the limits to growth?: Reassessing the Club of Rome's 1972 Limits to Growth report. Speakers:
Dr Graham Turner (via internet link) (Commonwealth Scientific and Industrial Research Organisation) Bruce Gaston (SkyBridge Finance) Do current trends in commodity prices and availability indicate that the predictions made in the Club of Rome's 1972 Limits to Growth report were accurate? Are we approaching limits to growth in oil and food production? If so, what are the policy implications? Addressing these questions will be Dr Graham Turner, Ecosystem Sciences researcher at Australia's national science agency CSIRO, and Bruce Gaston, an oil and gas corporate finance advisor and researcher specialising in analysis of how the Limits to Growth forecasts could inform our understanding of the 2008 financial crisis and the ongoing Arab Spring.
